A natural patio complementing the breathtaking Paradise Valley view
This family built their dream home in Livingston with sweeping views of the Absaroka Mountain Range. What better way to enjoy the view than from an expansive entertaining patio made from natural Montana gravel, surrounded by a landscape of native grasses.

see how we did it.
After the base gravel layer was added and compacted, we installed each TrueGrid piece, snapping them together easily.

Overrun and post cut-outs were cut on-site with a circular saw.
TrueGrid was cut around posts.

TrueGrid cells covered the entire patio area.

Pea gravel was brought in on a skid steer, which seamlessly moved over the empty TrueGrid to get materials conveniently to all areas.

A landscape rake spread pea gravel evenly into the cells.
A plate compactor was used to vibrate and settle the pea gravel within the TrueGrid cells.
Pea gravel filled to the top of the TrueGrid cells (the homeowner's preference was a smooth surface, without overfilling).

A hose was used to further compact the gravel in place.

The finished patio!
